Professional climber

How do professional athletes build value for sponsors in a world saturated by social media?

In this first bookpublished in 2018, I follow world-class professional climbers across Europe and the USA to explain how they make a living from their sport. By zooming in on the struggles and dilemmas caused by self-branding pressure and sponsorship contracts, I uncover how social media and the demand for visibility shape the meaning athletes imbue in their everyday work and lives.
